A Very Specific Spike in Search Engine Traffic Leads Me to Ask the Following

Is there something happening with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert in 2008? Why does everyone want bumper stickers all of a sudden?

One can only hope.

So am I a big dork if I point out what the real reason is, or are you actually wondering?  Mr. Stewart has just officially declared his uncandidacy at the New Yorker Festival.  It might also have to do with the new Robin Williams movie coming out...but I hope not.  Anyway, if you’re like me, you really, really loved the coverage they did of the whole Foley fiasco the other day--last week sometime, the same day that he did the interview with the guy who wrote “The J Curve”.  I loved what they did with all the soundbites of people passing blame for not reporting anything about Foley over the last five years...and then para remate, they had a clip from Fox News identifying Foley as a Democrat.

I’m sure Stewart would say that he is slightly underqualified to make decisions about, say, what to do with the nutcase in Pyongyang.  And as a viewer, if you’re like me, you’re glad to hear he won’t be changing jobs anytime soon.

Stewart, that is...not the nutcase in Pyongyang.  He’s welcome to retire as soon as possible.

(P.S. Has anybody seen anything comparing the potential Foley-related GOP collapse in this midterm election with the obviously Clinton-related losses by the Democrats in 2000?  If either side were being honest about all this, they’d have to admit to themselves that they shoe is very nearly on the other foot...)

Sorry for hijacking the post.  I owe you all at least 50 cents.  Thanks, zalm.

Thanks for the explanation.  I actually was interested in the real reason.  But that doesn’t mean you still can’t be a big dork.  smile
