All Quiet on the Western Front
So I’ve been downright silent lately. I’m sure it’ll happen from time to time.
This time, it’s in part due to the fact that the Red Sox are in town. That means I’ve been to two games in two nights, spent more on beer than I thought possible (Bass Ale, though, so it wasn’t all for naught), had a foul ball glance off my fingers, got scolded by the older lady behind me for standing when the Sox did something good and the people in front of me stood, and just generally enjoyed the hell out of two decent games. If Wednesday’s game wasn’t a day game, I’d probably be going to a third. But rootrootrooting for the away team is a bit tiring, and I haven’t had much left in me to share in these parts.
By way of a preview of what might be appearing someday in this spot.... I’ve been reading Miroslav Volf’s Exclusion and Embrace, and I’ve got some posts germinating based on his ideas. I’ve been making good headway in the book, but Volf does a good job of reminding me at several points along the way that my understanding of his argument really won’t be complete until I finish the book. I guess that makes sense and all, but it also makes me hesitant to present what I’ve found interesting so far only to find out later that Volf takes his ideas in a different direction. I’m also admittedly out of the habit of reading works like this that are fairly dense and reference a wide swath of a literature unfamiliar to me. So it’s going slowly.
Anyhow, this is a whole lotta nothin’ to explain why I’ve written a whole lotta nothin’. I’m sure this violates all sortsa Good Blog rules, but oh well.
This blather unceremoniously marks the beginning of the fourth month of this humble corner’s existence. Again, just for my own purposes: 89 posts and 34,942 words. blah blah blah.

I believe those were 40-42. Someday I’ll get paid by the word and then it will all be worth it. In the meantime, it kinda brings back some old wordy memories:
“The name of the book about which this book report is about is Peter Rabbit, which is about this rabbit....”

Do those last 3 blahs count as 34,943, 34,944, and 34,945?
Keep up the good work. I keep recommending you…

I tested the waters and I’m hooked, after only 1/2 hour. Just wanted you to know.
Altho you won’t hear much from me, I will be reading. I also enjoy reading the ripples. I LOL (is that “laughed out loud”?) at these.

Glad to hear you like the site, Mrs. A. I hope it isn’t too taxing on the ol’ dialup.
