Come On, Feel the Illinoise!
Posting will be light ‘round these parts for the next several days, as we’re getting ready for my family to visit this weekend.
As I cleaned our apartment this evening, I streamed a Sufjan Stevens concert from last fall. And quite frankly, I’m beginning to get a little Sufjan fever. We’ve got tickets to his two San Francisco shows in July, and tonight’s stream gave me a nice preview of what is to come.
I also learned today that, while Illinois is still scheduled to be released on July 5, Asthmatic Kitty is now taking pre-orders to be shipped on June 3! And it’s only $10! Best of all, since shipping is only $2 for the whole order, you may as well grab Michigan at the same time if you don’t already have it.
Not that I’m excited or anything....

Yeah, I really dig it, too. It’s a good follow up to the kitchy Michigan cover. You can see a high-res version of the cover art as well as some goofy cheerleading promo shots here.
I think that site also has a realaudio stream of the most tenderly beautiful ode to a serial killer ever. It’s creepilovely! And the last line is a Reformed doozy.

I’m sure the new disc is going to be fantastic. But that aside, that’s the best album cover art I’ve seen in a while.

Interesting. I have no idea about Sufjan’s sexuality. Nor, as you say, do I care. But I’m clearly not using the word “gay” enough to get those searches, because I can’t seem to shut up about Sufjan.
In other search engine news, I appear to be on page one of google for the search “Dobson hypocrisy corruption ministry”.
So, um, I got that going for me....
