Crash: The Sequel

Ever have one of those years?

As I was driving home tonight from picking up my wife at work, we got into an accident. Again.

Unlike last time, this one wasn’t our fault. We were crossing an intersection about four blocks from home and we got hit by a woman who ran the red light.

Thankfully, she wasn’t going very fast. Thankfully, most of the impact was towards the front of the car, not on the passenger side door next to my wife. In fact, none of the airbags deployed.

As far as we can tell, no one was hurt. As far as we can tell, our car will need some work, but hopefully not too much. As far as we can tell, between the witnesses and the very, very apologetic woman who hit us, we should be able to convince her insurance company to pay for it.

We’ll start to figure out all of this in the morning. In the meantime, we’re a little shaken up, but we’re okay.

Argh.  Man, that sucks.  I can say that insurance companies do tend to do a nice job of making the process painless to get your money from people.

I hope you and the wife are okay...physically, yes, but emotionally, too.

Geez.  Crazy California drivers.  No one in Minnesota ever runs a red...there is, however, a lot passive aggressive tailgating.  Glad to hear no one was hurt.  I trust your insurance company will be quicker than ours.  Still waiting to get back our deductable from an accident in November.

Ten points for Amica’s team...grrrr.

Woah, that’s rough. Glad you’re all okay, including the apologetic driver.

Now please don’t go making any karmatic connections between this accident and returning to blogging.

glad the airbags didn’t deploy, i have never had that experience but the thought of airbags speading towards my face is just a little disturbing.

hope things work out well w/ the insurance company.

Do you have a “Hit Me” bumpersticker? The grown up equivalent of the kick me sign.

I’m beginning to think that the Prius must have some magnetic quality or its own gravitational pull, with the crashing in the Zalm home. I hope it all gets sorted out quickly.

For the record, this is our first accident in the Prius.  The previous accident was the one that lead to our buying the Prius in the first place, what with the totalling of our Civic and all.

But yes, for people who are actually pretty responsible drivers, we certainly have had more than our share of accidents this year.

Somehow, i don’t think you are telling the whole story.
