Five Years Ago

Five years ago today was an amazing day.

Five years ago today, in front of friends and family, I became the husband of a kind, smart, funny, beautiful, and loving woman.

Five years ago today, we began a crazy journey that, two weeks and almost 3,000 miles later, brought us and our drugged cats to Berkeley, of all places.

In those five years, we have encouraged each other, challenged each other, disappointed each other, amazed each other, supported each other, frustrated each other, prayed for each other, inspired each other, forgiven each other, and loved each other in more ways than we could possibly have foreseen back then.

Five years ago, we pretty much knew where we were going to be today. We can’t say the same for where we’ll be five years from now. But as long as we’re together, it’ll be worth celebrating.

five years ago today was an amazing day…

but as i’ve watched you two over the past five years i can only say that each day was more amazing than the previous.  thank you for demonstrating a relationship of love, honor, and support and showing just how powerful a marriage can be when you let god be an integral part.

happy anniversary.

five years ago yesterday, i got the right to use this nickname.  thanks again.  it’s still an honor.

but more importantly, congratulations to you both, and many happy, encouraging, challenging, amazing, supportive, praying, inspiring, forgiving, and loving returns.

Happy anniversary!  My wife and I also have our five-year anniversary coming up in just a couple of weeks.  August 2000 was a very good month, it seems.

Thanks for all the kind words and good wishes.  We’re truly blessed to have each other.

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary, Caleb.  I’ll say this for 2000… it makes it incredibly easy to remember which anniversary we’re celebrating.

And dutchgirl and bestman, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without either of you.  So having you stand up there with us on that amazing day was truly special.

Hoo boy, that was mushy.  I’d better get back to being outraged and stuff.  This next post oughta do it....

Congratulations! (a bit belatedly). Here’s to many more half decades.

And thanks much for the blogroll link.

Terribly sorry to be late to the party!

Congrats you two.  May God bless you (and your cats, whom, I hope, are less sedate now than at the end of that 3,000 mile journey) richly.
