Friday Random 10
This has always been one of those memes that seemed like it might be fun if I ever got off my ass and built me a website. So now that this baby’s up and running, I figured I might as well give it a spin. I know I’m a little late to the party, so if you’re already tired of this, thanks for indulging me.
I forget where I saw this first, but the basic idea is that you turn on your iPod or music player, put your entire collection on shuffle and post the first 10 songs that come up. If you feel like playing along at home, you can post your list on your own site or leave it in the comments.
So, without further ado, my first Friday Random 10.
- Gagging Order - Radiohead
- One in a Million - Adem
- Sad Love - Crooked Fingers
- My Kind of Heaven - Jeffrey Foucault & Kris Delmhorst
- Stop Me - Brownie Mary
- Margot Known as Missy - The Judybats
- It’s Oh So Quiet - Björk
- Even Better Than the Real Thing - U2
- Cradle and All (Live) - Ani DiFranco
- Reunion Hill - Richard Shindell
So… whatcha got?

i don’t come across a judybats fan that often. i have all the albums from their first incarnation, but i haven’t heard anything since jeff reformed the band back in 2000. so i’ve never heard “shine” and its ilk. any good?

Actually that’s the only Judybats song I’ve heard, which is kinda sad because I like it a whole lot. I’m originally from Knoxville, the band’s hometown. I used to cover local music for the daily paper there. A few months after 9/11, I did a story about a guy I know in Knoxville who did a benefit album to raise funds for the freedom engine there. That song is on the album. From what I know, it’s a previously unreleased song. I’m not sure when it was recorded though.

hmmm… i meant to reply to this and just got around to it now.
the first incarnation of the judybats is definitely something to seek out, particularly the albums native son and pain makes you beautiful.
