So it appears that my next phone company might very well have to be Cingular. I’ve never been that excited about the idea, but damn.

It is truly incredible. The only bummer, as far as I’ve read so far, is that Cingular’s data speeds are typically pretty bad. (I’ll ask my better half to read up on that part for me, since she used to be in the industry and knows her EDGE from a hole in the ground...)
Still, even without the web stuff, it appears to be a true leap forward on many levels--exactly the kind of thing you’d expect from the Cupertinoans, only more so. I expect a review from you as soon as you or one of your Bay-Area neighbors gets your hands on one…

Must. Not. Covet.
I agree with bestman about the Cingular part being a bummer. I’m with Cingular right now and I’m very eager to switch. My wife and I joke that Cingular can only make the claim “Fewest Dropped Calls” because no one can get a signal to make a call in the first place.
Can’t drop what you don’t have.
Needless to say, I’m really torn now. To switch or not to switch...that is the question. The corollary, of course is, ‘to spend $600 or not to spend $600’.
