More Takk…
Andy Whitman penned the best line I read yesterday about the new Sigur Rós album:
If the cherubim form garage bands (and one can only hope they do), then surely this must be the sound they make.
That’s probably not exactly what the Smashing Pumpkins had in mind, but it seems about right to me.
The most cringeworthy review, not surprisingly, was from E! Online:
Better yet, if “Hoppípolla” were sung by Chris Martin and about Gwyneth Paltrow, it would be the best Coldplay song of the year.
Right. Wait. What does that even mean? And shouldn’t someone tell Paste?
If that weren’t enough to make me thankful I don’t live in the E! Alternate Universe, the next line sealed the deal:
People will be Takk-ing about this truly amazing album for years to come.
Don’t you get it? It’s a pun, see, because the album name is Takk, which looks like it probably sounds like “talk,” and, well…
I think I just sprained my mind.

I don’t see how you can even compare Coldplay to Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros is so much better than Coldplay.

Coldplay is commerical nonsense. Sigur Ros is REAL music. Peen knows what’s up.
