Things That Make Me Happy
This weekend will probably be a little light for posting, as we have a friend visiting from Chicago. I might pop on from time to time with some shorter posts. We’ll see.
As long as I’m feeling listy today, I may as well leave you with a very short list of things that make me happy.
- McSweeney’s! Here and here and here. Oh, and this understated beauty.
- Forgiving friends.
- Dogs Die in Hot Cars, the best damn 80s music written in the 21st century. Seriously, nothing should be allowed to be as catchy as “Godhopping.” (Thanks to the aforementioned forgiving friend for the recommendation).
- Posts like this one about Ashley Smith that cut to the heart of the beauty of her actions rather than getting sidetracked by the mysterious powers of Rick Warren. (Thanks to Jeanne at Body and Soul for the link.)
- Mountain Dew bottles with free music inside. I’m up to 9. This may have something to do with how I’ve managed to write so much over the last month.

Forgiving? Sheesh! What’s to forgive? I’m the one that asked you to step down, remember? The worst you’ve done is created an impossible-to-resist time-sink. Cheryl, in particular, bemoans the loss of another chunk of her day with this revelation; she is powerless to resist the lure of your prose.

hmmm… i’m not quite sure what to do with that last information. i guess i just have to follow the wise words of that eternal sage, spider-man: “with great power comes great responsibility.”
