When There’s Nothing Left to Burn, You Have to Set Yourself on Fire
My story is nothing new. In fact, it’s an equation that’s older than dirt:
Long hours = exhaustion.
Also, from the Department of Mixed Blessings… while my job kept me from making it to the ol’ ballpark this week, it’s not like it was actually the Red Sox who were playing.

I don’t know if this is true for you but the only thing I can console myself with during those exhausting long work hour periods (like tomorrow through the end of next week) is that my paycheck corresponds to those hours.
Of course, it works the other way too.

A nice wink to one of the best (and must underrated) albums of last year.
BTW, August has found me doing the same kind of math...I don’t think I wrote a single post in August because of hectic work schedules.
I gotta say though, as an avid Twins fan, I don’t mind the Sox playing a bunch of no names. Now we just gotta beat out the Pale Hose for a Wild Card. :crosses fingers and squints:

I must say, as an avid White Sox fan…
my team sucks
:(
Ah for the days when Contreras knew how to pitch.

Well, considering that your ChiSox have scored a total of two runs against a team that started Julian Tavarez and Kason Gabbard, I’m not sure it’s the pitching that should concern you.
And tomorrow you get to face Kyle Snyder, a pitcher so formidable he couldn’t make the staff of the Royals.
And Friday, we are apparently starting someone named “Kevin Jarvis.”
*sigh*
At least I recognize the names on the lineup card again.

Yeah, the dead bats are a new thing. I thought they were bad at pitching, but it turns out they’re just bad at baseball.
Oh wells.
